2001 Buick Century A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the A/C Hose in the HVAC System on 2001 Buick Century?
A: The first step for condenser tube replacement is to recover the refrigerant. You should first remove the air cleaner assembly and cross vehicle brace and vacuum Brake Booster before proceeding to the accumulator tube clip. Lift and maintain support of the vehicle after that disconnect the lower radiator air baffle. Unfasten the accumulator tube nut at the accumulator before you detach its tube. Users should disconnect the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector after they have lowered the vehicle. Lowen the evaporator inlet tube nut until loose then disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser tube while being cautious of the condenser tube. Open the condenser tube to remove the o-ring while discarding it; take out the a/c pressure sensor from the condenser tube. Before installation begin with the a/c pressure sensor on new condenser tube while applying mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to the new o-ring before placing it on the condenser tube. Secure the evaporator inlet tube onto the condenser tube before tightening its nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft). Place the lower radiator air baffle back properly while reattaching the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector before raising the supported vehicle again. Proceed to connect the accumulator tube with the accumulator while tightening the tube nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft) before lowering the vehicle. Fasten the accumulator tube clip and vacuum Brake Booster and cross vehicle brace and air cleaner assembly. The process ends with evacuation and recharging of the a/c system followed by fitting leak evaluation through the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
