Rise the vehicle and disconnect the electrical cables from the vehicle speed sensor to work on its manual transmission NV 3500 counterpart. Take out the bolt and vehicle speed sensor along with its seal. Apply a thin film of transmission oil onto a new O-ring seal with Synchro-mesh Transmission Fluid GM P/N 12345349 or an identical product. First put the O-ring on the vehicle speed sensor assembly then connect both parts together with the bolt and fasten the bolt to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.). Finish by fixing the electrical cable to the speed sensor before letting the vehicle down.
