The first step of the service should begin with distributing cap screw removal followed by Distributor Cap removal then rotor screws removal and rotor removal. Protecting the reluctor wheel slot square and removing cmp screws allows removal of the cmp sensor from the Distributor. The installation procedure requires new replacement screws which should possess thread locking properties for cap and cmp sensor and rotor screw attachment. Insert the cmp sensor through the reluctor wheel slot while then installing new cmp mounting screws that require tightening to 2.2 n.m (20 lb in). First install the rotor onto the reluctor wheel before using new rotor screws to fasten it with a torque setting of 2.0 n.m (18 lb in).
