  A: To service and repair the a/t fluid filter for the 4 speed-ms7, initially, raise and support the vehicle and thereafter remove 6 bolts and the left splash shield . Put a drain pan beneath the transaxle fluid pan and take out the transaxle Drain Plug to release the fluid. Be careful to avoid ruining the mating surfaces when removing the transaxle fluid pan. If needed, knock it loose with a rubber mallet and wood block without metal prying. Then, take out 18 bolts, the transaxle fluid pan, and the fluid pan gasket. Remove 3 bolts, the fluid filter screen , and the gasket from the Valve Body - note that a little bit of clutch material in the pan is normal, but a lot of it indicates disassembly and inspection. Inspect the fluid pan for large metal pieces or foreign matter and clean the fluid filter screen with solvent and replace if damaged. Clean the transaxle fluid pan magnets and the bottom of the fluid pan , as well as the gasket material from the mating surfaces. For installation, install the fluid filter screen gasket and fluid filter screen onto the Valve Body assembly, holding it with 3 bolts tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.).
