How to replace the door lock cylinder on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?

In order to change the door lock cylinder one has to remove the front door trim panel and draw away the deflector of water. To remove the lock cylinder, remove the retaining clip and the lock rod. Install the new cylinder, screw it in, reconnect the lock rod and install the trim panel again.
