How to service and repair the rear drive axle shaft on 2000 Chevrolet Camaro?

Gather tools, including J 39446. Remove tire, wheel, brake rotor, axle housing cover. On non-traction control axles, fit J 39446 to the reluctor wheel. Remove pinion shaft lock bolt and shaft; push axle shaft, remove axle shaft lock, extract shaft. Reinstall shaft, lock, pinion shaft, tighten bolt, remove J 39446, reinstall cover, rotor, tire, wheel.
