How to service the muffler on 2000 Cadillac DeVille?

In order to service muffler, lift and hold the vehicle and hold the intermediate pipe. Trim the muffler on the intermediary pipe just above the weld and take out the muffler assembly and replace it with the new one, and muffler hanger. Place the intermediate pipe and clamp it to ensure that it is in an appropriate location and then lower the vehicle.
