2000 Buick Century Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the engine mount on 2000 Buick Century?
A: Starting the Engine Mount replacement requiresyou to disconnect the ground (negative) Battery Cable. First disconnect the duct from the throttle body air inlet then extract the Engine Mount struts. Commence by raising and properly supporting the vehicle before removing the three-way catalytic converter pipe from its position on the right Exhaust Manifold. The installation requires wheel removal of the right front side together with its tire followed by the right engine splash shield. The needed sequence starts with removing the Engine Mount lower nuts before lowering the vehicle and using j28467-b universal engine support fixture (J28467-B) together with j28467-90a engine support adapters (J28467-90A) and j36462-a engine support adapter leg set (J36462-A) to lift the engine. The first step involves removing the Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts until the Engine Mount and its bracket along with the Engine Mount upper nuts are extracted. The installation process starts with mounting the Engine Mount onto the Engine Mount bracket and securing its upper nuts at 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Platform the Engine Mount bracket together with the Engine Mount onto the oil pan while tightening the Engine Mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Drop the vehicle and engine combined followed by a return and proper suspension of the vehicle to install the Engine Mount lower nuts at 43 nm (32 ft. Lbs). After reinstalling the right engine splash shield and right front wheel with tire you must join the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right (rear) exhaust manifold. To finish the repair process first lower the vehicle and then remove the j28467-b before reinstalling the Engine Mount struts and attaching the throttle body air inlet duct followed by reconnecting the battery ground (negative) cable.
