How to remove and install Timing Cover in V8 engine on Oldsmobile Cutlass?

To remove the engine, first disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system, disconnecting the radiator hoses, heater hose, and small by-pass hose for Olds engines. Next, remove the top radiator support, fan shroud, and radiator, followed by all belts, the fan and fan pulley, crankshaft drive pulley, and torsional damper. If a Chevrolet engine is present, remove the water pump. Then, take out all bolts securing the front cover to the engine block and remove the front cover, noting that on Oldsmobile engines, the water pump will come off with the cover. For installation on Oldsmobile engines, use vise grip pliers to remove dowel pins from the engine block, grinding a chamfer on each pin's end.
