Through a methodical sequence, slide the Starter forward to clear the transmission before removing the Starter lead nut and positive cable from the Starter and finally disconnecting the positive cable nut . Set the Starter on a workbench then unfasten the transmission cover from the Starter if needed followed by removing the Starter heat shield if required. Installation begins by adding the Starter heat shield followed by snapping the transmission cover onto the Starter unit. The positive cable requires installation on the Starter while tightening the positive cable nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After installing the Starter lead, secure the lead nut with 3.4 n.m (30 lb in) torque setting. Put the Starter where it belongs before installing and torque-stretching the Starter bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). The oil level sensor electrical connector should be reconnected after which front axle mounting bracket bolt positioning followed by front axle mounting bracket nuts installation at 95 n.m (70 lb ft) torque specification and 4wd system. End your installation by installing the transmission cover bolt while tightening it to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Next, lower the vehicle and reattach its negative Battery Cable.
