GMC Sierra 3500 Motor And Transmission Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Motor and Transmission Mount on a 4L80-E/4L85-E on GMC Sierra 3500?
A:
To replace the transmission mount on 4l80-e/4l85-e, first, lift and support the vehicle, and then support the transmission with a transmission jack. Take off the transmission mount from the transmission support retaining nut or nuts and lift the transmission so that the weight comes off the mount. Next, remove transmission mount to transmission or transfer case adapter mounting bolts and lift transmission up just enough to get the transmission mount out. Then, disconnect the mount, and after taking off the vehicle's original, install the new transmission mount, making sure it is installed to the transmission or the transfer case adapter mounting bolts and fasten them taking 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Hold up the transmission and connect the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nut or nuts and tighten them to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Finally, take the transmission jack away and lower the vehicle.
