The first step to remove the right Exhaust Manifold from an 8.1l engine starts with removing the wheelhouse panel and the oil level indicator. Turn the
Spark Plug boot one half turn counterclockwise to unfasten it while you should grasp only the boot to guard against Spark Plug or wire damage. Complete the right Exhaust Manifold removal by disconnecting the spark plugs from
Ignition Coils then disconnect the wires from plugs and remove the plugs one at a time. You must first lift the vehicle before removing the Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts and nuts which enables you to detach the heat shield. Once the vehicle is at an ideal position start unbolt and unfastening the Exhaust Manifold attachments and removing the manifold itself. The old Exhaust Manifold Gasket must be thrown away before cleaning and inspecting the manifold. The process begins with installing a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket followed by the installation of the Exhaust Manifold onto position. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolt to 26 foot pounds while tightening the nuts to 12 foot pounds. Lift the vehicle to its proper height and place the heat shield onto the installation spot before fixing it with bolts and nuts which need to be tightened to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Mount the vehicle to lower it. After installing the spark plugs and reconnecting the
Spark Plug Wires you must push on the visible boot end until it forms a secure connection. The last step includes installing the wheelhouse panel together with the oil level indicator.
