The process for replacing an evaporator core starts with heater/vent module removal through screw extraction and module separation. The removal of the evaporator core begins by extracting it from its position inside the heater/vent module. Put refrigerant oil in the new evaporator core during its installation process. Fit the new evaporator core inside the heater/vent module followed by rebuilding the module structure and tighten its screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). The reinstallation of the heater/vent module requires A/C system evacuation and recharging followed by testing its fittings using J 39400-A.
