  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on GMC Sierra 3500?
    A:
    To replace the Coolant Reservoir, first drain the cooling system, and the air cleaner assembly should be removed. Remove the Coolant Reservoir overflow hose, and disconnect the coolant level sensor electrical connector. Reposition the Coolant Reservoir inlet & outlet hose clamps and if your vehicle is equipped with a 4.3l 4.8l 5.3l 6.0 or 8.1l engine remove your Coolant Reservoir inlet & outlet hoses. Then, disconnect the Coolant Reservoir inlet hose and Coolant Reservoir outlet hose from it, then the bolt and nut to secure the Coolant Reservoir. Removing the Coolant Reservoir, install the new Coolant Reservoir and also remember to tighten the bolt and nut to 9nm (80 inch lbs). Reattach Coolant Reservoir outlet hose and move Coolant Reservoir outlet hose clamp, and install Coolant Reservoir inlet hose and its clamp. Connect the coolant level sensor electrical connector, hello john surfit of the Coolant Reservoir overflow hose, replace the air filter assembly back. Finally, fill the cooling system.
