How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for the side impact on GMC Sierra 3500?

Perform the following actions to replace the inflatable restraint side impact sensor by first disabling the SIR system. When protecting the undeployed inflatable restraint seat belt pretensioner, avoid carrying the wires or connector; instead, hold it with the open end away from you and other people, but do not cover it with a hand to avoid personal injury. Next, take out the front door trim panel, loosen the 2 fasteners for the inflatable restraint side impact sensor, and remove the sensor from the door. The connector position assurance (CPA) and the yellow 2-way harness connector go into disconnectability. For the installation, connect the yellow 2-way harness connector to the inflatable restraint side impact sensor and install the CPA on the connector. Then, fasten back the inflatable restraint side impact sensor to the door and tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in) with only hand tools. Finally, reinstall the door trim panel and activate the SIR system.
