Replacing the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler on a 4l60-e/4l65-e/4l70-e automatic transmission requires initial disassembly of the grille assembly. A drain pan should be placed under the vehicle as technicians remove Transmission Oil Cooler lines from the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler unit. You must first take out the Oil Cooler lines that connect to the auxiliary cooler but keep the lines connected to the cooler. Then remove all 4 bolts which hold the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler to the radiator support before extracting the cooler itself. The installer should attach the Transmission Oil Cooler to the radiator support by using 4 bolts which need tightening to 10 nm (89 lb in). Connect the Oil Cooler lines to the auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler and torque them to 23 nm (17 lb ft). Finish by removing the drain pan and reinstall the grille assembly.
