The Radiator replacement requires two essential tools that include the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and hose clamp (J 39529). Start with the removal of the air cleaner assembly together with the coolant recovery reservoir. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used first to detach the clamp at the Radiator inlet before you remove the Radiator inlet hose. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) will help with the outlet heater hose clamp detachment at the Radiator followed by removing the outlet heater hose . The next step requires removal of automatic transmission cooler lines and engine oil cooler lines. The
Fan Shroud's top bolts must be unscrewed from the Radiator support together with the side Fan Shroud bolts until the Radiator with insulators can be removed (1, 3). The Radiator requires inspection along with insulators and hoses clamps and mounting hardware before making replacements if needed. You should begin by installing the new Radiator insulators (1,3) followed by the Radiator. Attach the Fan Shroud bolts to the Radiator support top while tightening them to 6 n.m (53 lb in), then fasten the Fan Shroud bolts to the sides with equal torque of 6 n.m (53 lb in). The engine oil cooler lines should be reconnected with the automatic transmission oil cooler lines after attaching the Radiator inlet hose to the Radiator. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) helps install the hose clamp onto the Radiator inlet housing while the hose clamp (J 39529) enables correct fitting of the outlet heater hose clamp. Reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir and the air cleaner assembly before checking the automatic transmission fluid level together with the engine oil level.
