How to replace the ABS Control Module on GMC Savana 1500?

The first step to replace the ABS Control Module requires vehicle suspension followed by support. Detach the shield bolts of EHCU and its shield before removing the electronic connectors from the ABS Control Module. Bench the bolts which secure the EHCU bracket to the frame while avoiding any deformities in the brake pipes that extend from the EHCU. The EHCU removal from the frame enables access to the ABS Control Module so technicians can use T-25 Torx(R) bolts to detach the ABS Control Module from the BPMV while avoiding tool prying on the module. Dust the BPMV surface using a dry and lint-free cleaning cloth. It is essential to replace damaged mounting bolts before installing the new ABS Control Module while also avoiding use of RTV and any sealant on both ABS Control Module gasket and mating surfaces. The installation of ABS Control Module must be performed on the BPMV before securing it with ABS Control Module bolts that require 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) X-pattern tightening. The ABS Control Module electrical connections should be attached followed by reinstallation and proper bolt tightening of the EHCU shield to 12 Nm (8 ft. lbs).
