Start by disconnecting the negative
Battery Cable, then removing the air cleaner outlet duct, and then the air cleaner adapter stud in order to remove the Throttle Body assembly. Disconnect the cruise control cable and accelerator cable from Throttle Body, and remove the nuts holding onto accelerator routing bracket and set it away. Next, unbolt the stud and nuts that hold the accelerator control cable bracket in place and keep it to one side as well. Remove the idle air control (IAC), and the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connectors, and unbolt Throttle Body retaining studs, and Throttle Body assembly itself, and dispose of the Throttle Body seal. Clean the surface of the seal in the Intake Manifold and install the assembly of the Throttle Body (using a new seal) while tightening the retaining studs to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Fit an new accelerator control cable by using this mounting stud and nuts, by tightening them at 12 n.m (106 lb in), after that fitting the accelerator cable routing bracket, and secure its nuts at 9 n.m (80 lb in), after that fit a new accelerator switch extensions tube with the clip and washer. Make sure the throttle moves free of binding by allowing the accelerator pedal to move its entire length. Mount the accelerator cable and cruise control cable on the throttle side and connect the tp sensor and iac valve harness connectors. Remount the air cleaner outlet duct and install the air cleaner adapter stud, tightening it to 8 n.m (71 lb in). At last, check the performance of the accelerator pedal, from turning on the ignition, with the engine in a state of rest, by describing the tp on the sensor, by stepping up the accelerator pedal to the ground, releasing it, and noting the acceleration possesses a frequency between 0-100%, up to 0, using a scan device.
