How to replace the positive battery cable on GMC Acadia?

A maintenance professional should begin cable repair by first disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Following procedure to access the accessory wiring junction block start by removing its block cover then its blocking nut. The positive Battery Cable terminal should be detached from its stud and the positive Battery Cable clip separated from the multiuse relay bracket. The positive Battery Cable grommet should be pushed into the dash panel. Then remove the right side instrument panel insulator panel together with the passenger side carpet. When access to the positive Battery Cable becomes possible by lifting its passenger side corner of the dash panel sound barrier remove the clip from the stud located on the dash panel and extract the grommet from the dash panel. Separate the positive Battery Cable from both retainers on each body wiring harness and from the right front sill plate of the body wiring harness. Pull out the body wiring harness from its clips on the positive Battery Cable then disengage its electrical connector from the Battery Cable electrical connector. The procedure to detach the positive Battery Cable involves removing floor panel studs clips, opening positive Battery Cable cover and loosening terminal nut to free the cable under the rear carpet. To install the positive Battery Cable direct the wiring through the rear carpet opening before fixing the cable from its position on the vehicle Floor Pan. Secure the positive Battery Cable clips onto floor panel studs then fasten the positive Battery Cable terminal to the battery positive terminal while tightening the nut to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Position the body wiring harness electrical connector to its respective positive Battery Cable clips before securing the positive Battery Cable cover. Proceed by attaching the body wiring harness electrical connector to the Battery Cable electrical connector while installing the positive Battery Cable at the body wiring harness right front sill plate. The grommet needs to be pushed through the dash panel while the positive Battery Cable must be installed onto both retainers on the body wiring harness followed by cable clip attachment to the dash panel stud. Situating the passenger side dash panel sound barrier corner and placing the passenger side carpet along with the right side instrument panel insulator panel. The positive Battery Cable grommet must be fully inserted through the dash panel before securing the positive Battery Cable terminal to the junction block stud while torquing the accessory wiring junction block nut to 22 n.m (16 lb ft). Finish the workflow by putting on the accessory wiring junction block cover followed by the positive Battery Cable clip installation onto the multiuse relay bracket and then the negative Battery Cable restoration.
