Chevrolet SSR Body Control Module (BCM) is one of the significant factors of dependability and output in Chevrolet SSR types that have been manufactured between 2003 and 2006. This new generation of BCM is the one that controls the electrical functionalities of the vehicle from aspects as simple as power windows, mirrors, air conditioning, to complex and necessary elements like central locking. Thus, the Chevrolet SSR Body Control Module integrates all the onboard computers through the vehicle bus to ensure all the electronic parts are optimized and safe. This particular control system shared in the middle is not only easy to implement from the user's standpoint, but also serves a significant purpose in the building of the Chevrolet SSR, which cannot be ignored in today's designs for automobiles. The discussed Chevrolet SSR Body Control Module can be installed in the 5.3L Vortec 5300 V8 and the 6.0L LS2 V8 engines to give different models of SSRs as an example of variety. For instance, the Body Control Module has load drivers that engage relays where details such as locking of doors and regulation of light are involved; thereby increasing comfort and security. Chevrolet SSR is a car model that is remarkable not only for its remarkable design and impressive power but also for its dependable BCN that makes it rather popular among the clientele interested in a car that combines attractiveness and efficiency along with resourcefulness and modernity.

Chevrolet SSR Body Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on Chevrolet SSR?
    A:
You need to first activate the convertible top function and place the Ignition Switch in off position before you work with the bcm connectors. Detach the negative battery terminal and slide off the rear upper garnish molding. You can reach bcm electrical connectors when you move the floor console toward the front then release its locking clips. Pull the two bracket retaining tabs that hold the bcm to the console bracket then one single tab before taking out the bcm and bracket combination from the console bracket. Untape the gray blue black brown and white connector plugs from bcm before taking out the vehicle part. To access the bcm you must unlock its retaining tabs then remove the bracket attached to it. When installing a new bcm set the mounting bracket onto the unit while pushing all retaining tabs fully into position join the five connectors from left to right beginning with brown and ending with gray to the bcm. Depress the bcm onto the console bracket alongside its designed bracket and secure it with all three holding points. Replace the floor console and rear upper trim. Plug in the negative battery terminal first and activate the bcm system when using a new bcm product if required. Finally, close the convertible top.
