The procedure to change Fan Clutch components on gasoline motors begins with removal of the upper
Fan Shroud. You should fit the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) on to the Fan Clutch. The first step involves loosening the fan hub nut at the
Water Pump before removing the Fan Clutch bolts from the
Fan Blade which allows separation of the Fan Clutch from the blade. Start by using Fan Clutch bolts to attach them to the Fan Blade from behind first and tighten each one to 23 nm (17 ft. Lbs.). Use the Fan Clutch remover and installer (J 46406) to secure the Fan Clutch by screwing the nut clockwise until it reaches 56 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). The last step is to put back the upper Fan Shroud.
