Visitors must start the front door exterior handle replacement process by taking off the trim panel and the water deflector. Holiday the lock cylinder rod and outside handle rod from their attached clips. Secure the handle with masking tape before you take off the outside handle mounting nuts along with the rubber cover to reach the outboard nut. Begin by taking away the
Door Lock Cylinder from the outside handle housing and afterward remove the handle. When you need to place the handle on the vehicle it should be attached following these steps. A replacement lock cylinder requires gm p/n 12345120 (Canadian P/N 726548) or similar lubricant on the lock case interior with the cylinder keyway before the Door Lock Cylinder installation into the outside handle housing. Moving forward, fasten the lock cylinder rod into its clip while building a connection between the handle rod and handle assembly clip. Use the masking tape to install the two outside handle mounting nuts which must be tightened to reach 9 n.m (80 lb in). The process ends with the reinstallation of both the rubber cover and water deflector as well as the trim panel.
