How to Replace the Rear Door Striker on an Extended Cab on Chevrolet Silverado 1500?

The replacement of an Extended Cab rear door striker requires starting with the removal of the upper trim door upper striker cover by pulling down straight to detach it from its retainer clips. Start by eliminating both door upper striker bolts and door upper striker together with any present spacer. You should place the door upper striker in position before proceeding to install any spacer when one is available. Install the door upper striker bolt first and adjust the lower bolt to match the upper threaded opening when the striker plate has shifted position. Before reinstallation, tighten the upper striker bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft) and replace the upper trim door upper striker cover by ensuring all the clips used for retention remained undamaged.
