The bushing and bearing remover tool j 26941 and balance shaft service kit j 38834 form essential equipment for balancing shaft front and rear bearing replacement. Start by uninstalling the complete balance shaft assembly since both components must stay connected together. Clamp the legs behind the balance shaft using bushing and bearing remover (J 26941). Next place the threaded end of balance shaft service kit (J 38834) through the balance shaft bore in front of the engine block. Install j 38834-1 into the j 26941 tool then push j 38834-2 onto j 38834-1 for placement in the engine block. Secure the bearing stacked with washer and nut onto the assembled parts. Twist j 38834-1 clockwise with a wrench to take out the balance shaft rear bearing from the engine block using j 38834. Clean engine oil lubricates the new balance shaft rear bearing before using balance shaft service kit j 38834 to install it in the opposite order while ensuring good alignment and tightening the parts with a torque wrench. Ill i remove both pieces of the balance shaft service kit j 38834 and put the balance shaft back into place.
