  Starting the spring shackle replacement requires that you lift the vehicle properly and install support. Two door utility owners should first remove the Fuel Tank and the evap canister followed by the spare tire if they need to access the spring shackle. Begin by removing the exhaust hangers at the back and lowering the exhaust system according to need. The rear axle needs proper support. The first step is to remove the frame to spring shackle mounting nut and bolt followed by leaf spring to spring shackle mounting nut and bolt then pull the spring shackle from the vehicle. First secure the spring shackle onto the vehicle frame where it needs to be installed before attaching it to both leaf spring mounting bolt and frame while leaving the bolts untightened. Place the frame onto the spring shackle mounting bolt and nut before avoiding nut and bolt tightening. The axle support should be raised until the metal material of the bumper bracket stands 164 - 176 mm (6.46 - 6.94 inch) away from the axle tube. First tighten the spring shackle mounting nuts to 122 nm (89 ft. Lbs.) before taking the rear axle support out of position. Raise your exhaust system if needed then reconnect rear exhaust hangers before you put back the spare tire followed by the evap canister for 2-door utilities and complete with the Fuel Tank for 2-door utilities before lowering the vehicle.
