  The necessary tool for a Fuel Rail assembly replacement is the fuel line quick connect separator (J 43178) the first step starts with unfastening the two fasteners and two plastic retainers followed by engine cover removal. The procedure requires the fuel pressure relief followed by quick connect coupling cover removal. The fuel line quick connect separator (J 43178) needs to be used for coupling removal between the fuel feed hose and fuel feed pipe which shares the same connection with the Fuel Rail bringing a shop towel to catch potential fuel leaks. While treating the Fuel Rail assembly remove the fastener from the throttle valve cable bracket which allows you to slide the tv cable and bracket away from the Fuel Rail assembly. Remove the fasteners from the Fuel Rail and then disconnect its electrical connectors from the Fuel Injectors. Removing the Fuel Rail assembly requires the production and incorporation of the Fuel Rail spacers as well as the fuel injectors together with the o-ring and grommets. New o-rings and grommets must be installed on fuel injectors before applying clean engine oil to them. Secure the Fuel Rail with its spacers against the engine by using the 2 fasteners tightened to 18.5 n.m (13 lb ft) torque. Fasten the tv cable and bracket onto the engine with the specified fastener torqued to a value of 8.8 n.m (77 lb in). Fasten the quick-connect fitting from the fuel feed hose to the fuel feed pipe of the Fuel Rail before installing the quick connect coupling cover. Turn the ignition on to pressurize the fuel system followed by turning off the ignition for leak inspection before needed repairs. Install the engine cover before securing both fasteners at 8.8 n.m (77 lb in) then complete the process by installing the 2 plastic retainers.
