In order to replace the Brake Caliper Bracket, first, lift and hold the vehicle and remove the assembly of the tire and wheel. If it is fitted with the abs, remove the bolt and unplug antenna for the abs wheel speed sensor and also the sensor, set side. Compress the front brake caliper with c clamp, then take away the 2 caliper guide pin bolts (1,2) do not allow the brake components to hang off the flexible brake hoses or you will damage them. Disconnect the caliper housing from the caliper bracket and hang it with a wire to prevent a damage to the brake hose. Then, take out the 2 caliper bracket mounting bolts and the caliper bracket , as well as, the 2 caliper guide pins, the 2 caliper guide pin seals , and the caliper bolt sleeve off of the caliper bracket . For installation, lubricate the 2 new guide pin seals with lubriplate (R) lubricant, gm p/n 12346293, or an equivalent lubricant meeting nlgi #2 category lb or gc-lb, and use a 19 mm socket and hammer to install them into the caliper bracket , ensuring the metal plate fits snugly. Apply lubricant to the 2 guide pins and the caliper bolt sleeve of the same type. Put in the guide pin with the caliper bolt sleeve to the upper part of the caliper bracket and the guide pin with no sleeve to the lower part. Mount the caliper bracket to the vehicle and tighten it with the 2 caliper bracket mounting bolts to 88 nm (65 ft. Lbs.). Mount the caliper to the caliper bracket with the use of lubriplate (R) lubricant, gm p/n 12346293 on the caliper pin bolts and ensure the brake hose does not get twisted or kinked while doing it. Make sure to install the 2 caliper guide pin bolts using your wrench, tighten it at 34 nm (25 ft. Lbs), reattach the abs wheel speed sensor and bolt to the knuckle and tighten the bolt to 7.8 nm (69 inch lbs.). Lastly, install the tire and wheel assembly back and lower the vehicle.
