You must take out the condenser tube before replacing the A/C Orifice Tube. Use the Orifice Tube Remover (J 26549-E) according to the instructions to remove the A/C Orifice Tube from the system. The tube needs to be inspected for damage. Replacing the tube is necessary when the plastic frame breaks. A damaged or clogged inlet filter in the tube requires a new replacement. The inlet filter should only receive low pressure shop air cleaning when metal chips or small fragments stain the surface. Use the filter again after satisfactory cleaning but DO NOT reuse its O-ring seals. Any cleaning of the porous plastic inlet filter on the A/C Orifice Tube needs to be done without the use of solvents or chemicals. The A/C Orifice Tube must get new O-ring seals before reinstallation during which time you should use mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to lubricate them. Before inserting the A/C Orifice Tube into the condenser tube proper placement must be achieved by handling its edge near the tube end while avoiding contact with the inlet filter.
