  To overhaul the Throttle Body assembly, start by disconnecting the Throttle Body injection (TBI) operation from the engine without breaking the fuel pressure regulator valve, which is factory-calibrated and non-serviceable. Next, remove two bolts and the air cleaner bracket from tbi unit and then prying off the two screws and the wire harness cover plate. Remove the 2 screws, and the Fuel Injector cover with the electrical leads still connected, then remove the two screws and the Fuel Injector elektrical connector from the tbi unit. Remove the lock tab on the electrical terminal of each Fuel Injector wire lead and disconnect both leads from the electrical connector, threading Fuel Injector wire leads through the electrical connector passage into the Throttle Body before taking out the Fuel Injector. Two screws will need to be removed with throttle position (TP) sensor, then unscrew upper and lower parts of the tbi unit to separate them. For assembly, assemble a new gasket onto the tbi lower assembly and install the upper tbi assembly to the lower tbi assembly while securing it with 2 screws tightened to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). Mount the tp sensor to the tbi unit and attach it loosely with the help of 2 screws. Feed the Fuel Injector wire leads through the electrical connector passage, secure each terminal into the electrical connector, making sure it is properly aligned so that it should lock, and carefully pull the wire leads between the connector passage. Mount the electrical connector to the unit tbi and fasten it 2 screws. Replace the new lower injector insulator into the Fuel Injector cavity, without twisting the Fuel Injector while installing to avoid damaging the o-ring seals and then install the Fuel Injector. Connect the Fuel Injector cover with the electrical leads to the Fuel Injector attaching it using 2 screws and attach the wire harness cover plate making sure not to pinch any of the wire leads. Do not forget to attach the air cleaner bracket to the tbi unit with 2 bolts by tightening the acl bracket bolt 10 n.m (89 lb in) and finally install the tbi unit onto the engine before adjusting the tp sensor.

  Drain the engine's coolant to replace the Throttle Body assembly (SFI). Unscrew the bolt and the air inlet duct resonator from the intake plenum and remove the breather hose from the valve cover and the air inlet duct from the Throttle Body. Twist the throttle lever to wide open throttle position and pull the accelerator cable end out of slot in the throttle lever. The process involves removing the iac valve electrical connector and the tp sensor electrical connector as well as two sets of cooling hoses from the iac valve coolant fittings. Take off the 2 nuts and 2 bolts that are used to fasten the Throttle Body to the intake plenum, then lift out the Throttle Body and gasket. Put Throttle Body and a new gasket on the intake plenum and fasten the latter by bolts and nuts (fastened to 18-23 N.m or 13.5-17 lb ft). Re attach the 2 coolant hoses to the iac valve coolant fittings and iac valve electrical connector , as well as the tp sensor electrical connector . Turn the throttle lever to the wide open throttle position, then insert the accelerator cable end in the slot in the throttle lever. Fasten the air inlet duct to the Throttle Body and clamp it down , reconnect the hose for breather to the valve cover .
