How to replace the upper intermediate steering shaft on Chevrolet Express 3500?

Start the upper intermediate Steering Shaft replacement by setting the vehicle's wheels in a straight position and locking the Steering Column because this prevents sir coil assembly damage. Start your procedure by inserting the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J42640) through the Steering Column's lower access hole. Begin by taking off the intermediate shaft bearing and then the retaining nut and bolt which fasten the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column. Disconnect the upper intermediate shaft from the Steering Column and take it away. Start assembly by joining the upper intermediate shaft to the Steering Column and finally secure it with the retaining nut and bolt. Tighten the nut to a torque of 64 nm (47 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the intermediate shaft bearing then remove the Steering Column anti-rotation pin (J42640) through the column lower access hole.
