The first step to replace the oil level indicator and tube requires the air cleaner assembly removal along with the coolant recovery reservoir retaining bolt removal before putting away the reservoir. Start by removing the oil level indicator from its tube then uninstall the oil level indicator tube bolt from the oil fill tube retaining bracket before taking out the tube from the lower section. The inspection of the o-ring seal should determine if it remains usable or requires replacement. Remove first the o-ring seal from the tube before you can remove the lower oil fill tube bolt from inside the engine block. The o-ring requires clean engine oil lubrication before installing it onto the lower oil level indicator tube which needs placement behind the exhaust manifold. Mount the vehicle into position before inserting the lower oil level indicator tube into the block. Set the collar to be flush with the block surface and then lower the vehicle. Screw the oil level indicator tube bolt into place before tightening it to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.).
