How to replace the Multifunction Turn Signal Switch Housing on Chevrolet Equinox?

Disabling sir and powering off the vehicle should be your first step before replacing the multifunction Turn Signal Switch housing. Start by taking out the Steering Wheel followed by sir coil and steering column trim cover pieces. Begin by depressing the lock tabs on the left and right multifunction levers before disconnecting the housing electrical connectors and bolted removal of the lock housing. The ignition housing must be detached from the multifunction lever bracket while you slide the bracket from the column. To install the lock housing with multifunction lever bracket begin by hand-torqueing bolts until they create a 3.2 mm (0.125 in) gap between ends and verify the lock tab can fully enter the column slot. Place the bracket onto the column then use your hands to tighten both lower and upper bolts until they become firmly secure. With manual tool assistance tighten both bolts to 8 n.m (71 lb in) then connect the ignition housing electrical connectors while making sure both locking tabs properly seat inside their respective slots. The installation requires all components including multifunction levers and upper and lower shrouds and sir coil before adding the Steering Wheel. When both steps are complete enable sir functionality then reconnect the black negative cable.
