The first step to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor involves disconnecting its electrical connector before taking out the bolt securing the CMP sensor and finally removing the sensor. The sensor can be reused after checking CMP sensor O-rings for damage which includes wear and leaks and replacing those that show signs of deterioration. Clean engine oil should be used for preparation of the CMP sensor O-rings before fitting the sensor into position. Install the CMP sensor bolt and tighten it to 10 N.m (89 lb in) while connecting the CMP sensor electrical connector at the end.
