Install retainer bolts on the Camshaft but tighten them only to 10 nm (89 lb in) before loosening the intake actuator bolt which stays in place. Start by soaking the Timing Chain and gears with solvent followed by marking both the Timing Chain and Camshaft position actuators for proper assembly. The en-48953 (Camshaft Actuator Locking Tool) needs to be removed from the system. Begin by notation of intake and exhaust Camshaft actuator positions on the Timing Chain followed by upper Timing Chain Guide bolt and guide removal together with the Timing Chain Tensioner. The en-48749 (Timing Chain Retention Tool Kit) should be installed at both the Timing Chain ends of the intake and exhaust side before removing and discarding the intake Camshaft actuator bolt. Moving the exhaust Camshaft clockwise with a small rotation breaks the Timing Chain tension followed by removing the intake Camshaft actuator from the Camshaft as it disconnects itself from the chain. Check that the aligning mark on the intake Camshaft actuator faces the Timing Chain mark before you install the Timing Chain to the actuator and secure both parts to the Camshaft. Install a new intake Camshaft actuator bolt just until it becomes tight and then take away the Timing Chain retention tools located on both sides of the Timing Chain. Reinstall the Timing Chain Tensioner and replace the en-48953 (Camshaft Actuator Locking Tool) before tightening its mechanisms. The en-45059 (Angle Meter) should be used to torque the new Camshaft actuator bolt to 30 nm (22 lb ft) along with an extra 100 degrees and torque both existing Camshaft actuator retainer bolts to 10 nm (89 lb in). Rigorous torque of 45 nm (33 lb ft) counterclockwise on the Crankshaft balancer bolt will free up the tensioner for removal after removal of the en-48953 (Camshaft Actuator Locking Tool). Place the upper Timing Chain Guide before installing its bolts at 10 nm (89 lb in) strength and replace the spark plugs while reinstalling the Camshaft cover.
