Begin by recovering the refrigerant after removing the battery box bolts together with the left headlamp surge tank and washer bottle and battery. Begin by removing the negative cable nut from the wheelhouse before removing the nut which maintains the liquid line adhesion to the strut tower. First disconnect the harness and vent hose retainers from the liquid line before removing the evaporator outlet hose along with its retainer plate nut from the thermal expansion valve (TXV). Then extract the liquid line off the txv and receiver dehydrator. Position the battery box inboard to access the new liquid line while it passes above both components before lifting the line upward to extract it from the vehicle. Lastly discard the sealing washer. The system requires installation of protective caps to guard the receiver dehydrator and txv from contaminants. Installation involves removing protective caps after putting a new sealing washer on the receiver dehydrator then guiding the liquid line to its proper placement. When fitting the liquid line to the receiver dehydrator users should apply 16 n.m (12 lb ft) torque while using pliers to stabilize the fitting. Installation of new seal washers begins with their placement on the liquid line and evaporator outlet hose.
