The Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Pad is a functional brake that is popularly used in braking systems of different models of Chevrolet Cavaliers. Intended to rub against the brake rotors, these brake pads are very important in heat production, as they transform kinetic power to heat to enable halting of the car. Chevrolet Cavalier has been on the compact car market from the early and the quality of the brake pads proves that Chevrolet cars are safe and efficient. Chevrolet Cavalier brake pads have choices from non-metallic to ceramic materials that enhance the wear, noise and braking characteristics differently. Generally, it is advised to maintain the brake pads regularly, and more often, it is required when the car runs 50,000 miles; besides, if possible, new hardware can be included in the replacement process which adds to the durability of the brake pads. The Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Pad not only assists in proper and efficient stopping of the vehicle on the road, but also helps to avoid such problems as brake fade, thus enhancing safety. In the auto- market, its operability with one, the other or all generations of Cavalier manufactured between 1982, 2005 and beyond explains its importance. Many features of the Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Pad have been developed to conform to the modern driving needs and therefore can be relied on with regards to performance and safety by drivers. Finally, the Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Pad symbolises the company's commitment to providing reliable and effective compact cars.

Chevrolet Cavalier Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the brake pads on Chevrolet Cavalier?
    A:
Start Brake Pad replacement by draining 2/3 of the brake fluid from the master cylinder. Support the vehicle when raised and record the wheel position at the hub before taking out the tire and wheel unit. Fasten the rotor in place with two wheel nuts. A large c-clamp placed over the top of the caliper housing will force the Piston into the bore to provide space between pads and rotor when tightened slowly. Attach a wire hook to the strut for suspension while you unscrew and take off the caliper bolts (1, 4) from the knuckle. When you examine the caliper bolts check for damage and rust before replacing everything including bushings. Apply denatured alcohol directly to the external part of the caliper boot surface before adding new brake pads. Lower the Piston into the bores by setting a c-clamp with a metal plate below the Piston. Hold the Piston gently with a wooden block to protect parts. Push up the inner-edge caliper boot next to the Piston to release trapped air before the boot rests flat below the Piston surface. Place the pads into the caliper and connect the caliper to the knuckle with bolt (1 and 4) and tighten them to 51 nm (38 ft. Lbs.). Set the rotor free from the hub nuts until you replace the tire and wheel parts in exact position of wheel hub marks. Accurately pour clean brake fluid into the master cylinder and push down the brake pedal with 778 n (175 lb.) force three times to position the pads. Finally, burnish the pads and the rotors.
