How to Replace an Alternator Bracket on Chevrolet Blazer?

A generator bracket replacement requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by removal of engine cooling fan and Drive Belt and generator. Set your work sequence by detaching the engine wiring harness bracket from the generator mounting bracket followed by removing the Drive Belt tensioner and Drive Belt idler pulley. First remove the bolt and three securing nuts which fasten the generator mounting bracket to the engine before taking out the generator mounting bracket. After following the fastener notice in service precautions, secure the generator mounting bracket to the Cylinder Head by using two bolts and a single nut which should be tightened to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). The Drive Belt idler pulley and Drive Belt tensioner should be replaced before you secure the engine wiring harness bracket to the generator mounting bracket at 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the generator afterward replace the Drive Belt while installing the engine cooling fan and reattach the negative Battery Cable.
