How to replace the Bank 2 Sensor 1 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on Chevrolet Avalanche 1500?

A suitable hoisting system will allow technicians to work on the replacement of the Bank 2 Sensor 1 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). The vehicle support begins by disconnecting the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer then removing the HO2S from its clips. The HO2S electrical connector must be disconnected in vehicles that use a 4.8L or 5.3L engine. Vehicle owners with 6.0L engines should follow the same procedure. Following sensor removal make sure to be careful about the amount of force applied. Install anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 on the sensor threads when reinstalling the old sensor because this compound made of liquid graphite and glass beads helps make future removal easier. Tighten the HO2S between 42 N.m (31 lb ft) using the wrench. The HO2S electrical connector must be connected to the 6.0L engine prior to connecting the 4.8L or 5.3L engine. Hang the vehicle while reinstalling the HO2S into its clips and removing the CPA retainer.
