Begin by using the axle remover (J 45859) to free the wheel drive shaft from the wheel bearing/hub. Next remove the knuckle from the vehicle before removing wheel bearing/hub bolts. Separate the knuckle and backing plate from the wheel bearing/hub assembly. Weld the knuckle to the wheel bearing/hub after which attach appropriate wheel bearing/hub mounting bolts and tighten to 125 n.m (92 lb ft). Begin fastener tightening with the adjustment link to knuckle mounting bolt at 160 n.m (118 lb ft) then proceed to the trailing arm to knuckle mounting bolt and nut at 170 n.m (125 lb ft) and afterward the lower shock mounting bolt at 150 n.m (111 lb ft). Route the upper Ball Joint to the knuckle before placing the upper Ball Joint mounting nut. Reinstall the Parking Brake Cable bracket on the knuckle, take away the jack and then attach the abs sensor electrical connectors to both the backing plate and sensor. Use a new wheel drive shaft nut which should be torqued to 160 n.m (118 lb ft) before reattaching the brake rotor, tire, and wheel when you lower the vehicle.
