  The first step to replace the rear object sensor includes removing the rear bumper fascia and disconnecting the electrical connector which serves the rear object sensor. Open the locking tabs which secure the housing after which you can extract the rear object sensor. Push the spring against housing while unlocking its locking tabs. Then remove the sensor from the housing by releasing the tabs. Force the bezel through the fascia until removal occurs. The installation process requires painting the rear object sensor but maintain a paint thickness below 6 mils by using a non-ferrous metal suitable paint thickness gauge. To install the rear object sensor bezel first press the ring until it becomes level with the fascia then bring the keyhole close to the key before pushing the sensor bezel into the fascia. Insert the housing directly from the inside of the fascia until it correctly engages into both bezel cutouts while placing spring keys at the housing bottom and top sides. First install the spring to the housing before adding the decoupling ring to the sensor. The sensor needs to be inserted into the housing where the connector points toward the passenger side of the fascia while the sensor tabs lock into the housing cutouts. After installation of the electrical connector, replace the rear bumper fascia.
