The first step for replacing the
Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose involves removing the front grille. A drain pan should be placed beneath the car while you use a siphon to remove power steering fluid from the reservoir to control any overflow. First obtain two clamp retainers to disconnect the Power Steering Cooler inlet hose from power steering gear and the Power Steering Cooler outlet hose from
Power Steering Pump. Use a wrench to remove the bolts sustaining the Power Steering Cooler to the radiator support before pulling out the Power Steering Cooler from the vehicle. You should mount the Power Steering Cooler on the radiator support before securing its bolts at 5 nm (44 inch lbs.). The Power Steering Cooler outlet hose must be connected to the Power Steering Pump where a retaining clamp will secure it in place. The power steering inlet hose should be connected to the power steering gear with its retaining clamp installed. The power steering system should undergo filling and bleeding before examining hose connections for leaks while returning the front grille to its place.
