Don't touch the connector pins or the soldered parts of your vehicle's vcm before you repair it or replace it, to avoid damaging it. If you have to replace the vcm, transfer the
Knock Sensor (KS) module to the new one, have it programmed and perform the passlock reprogramming and ckp system variation learn to avoid dtc p1336. A fault in the solenoid, relay coil or harness won't damage the odm and once the issue is fixed, the odm will work correctly. Start with the negative
Battery Cable and then remove the clip, the vcm from its bracket and its connectors. Remove the screws securing the Knock Sensor access cover to get it off and put the module into a place where it won't be damaged. Pinch the retaining clip and lift upward to take out the Knock Sensor module. Upon installation, be sure that either the vcm or service number is the official version. Push the notches of the Knock Sensor module into the socket, putting pressure only on its ends until it clicks. After that, place and install the module and access cover, tightening the screws to have a torque of 4.8 n.m (42 lb in). Afterward, link the vcm harness connectors, slide in the vcm, clip the retainer and attach the negative Battery Cable again.
