To replace the Intake Manifold, start with the removal of the
Fuel Injector sight shield cover and the air cleaner outlet duct. Remove the front and rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connectors while the front and rear fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors. Remove the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting from the right camshaft cover and the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fitting from the camshaft cover. Unscrew the fuel feed line quick connect at the
Fuel Rail, then reposition and remove the surge tank inlet hose/pipe from the surge tank and engine fitting, too, along with the pushnuts attaching it to the Fuel Rail studs. Afterwards, pull off the engine harness retainer and coolant heater cord tabs from the fuel rails studs, and then the Fuel Rail bracket nut, fuel rail studs, and fuel rails as well. Loosen the plenum duct clamp screw at water pump housing, after that remove the Intake Manifold bolts and place the power steering driver to the side and then remove Intake Manifold. Detach the quick connect fitting of the pcv foul air tube from the Intake Manifold and remove it from the retaining features removing the old seals. Clean and inspect the Intake Manifold before installing the new seals and the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting. Lightly lubricate around the edge of the rubber plenum duct on the water pump, apply the Intake Manifold, and bolt down while tight at a specific torque while keeping a 10 n.m (89 lb in). Ensure that the intake of the manifold is well seated into the plenum duct, and install the
Power Steering Pump and tighten the plenum duct clamp screw 2.75 n.m (24 lb in). Apply the Fuel Injector lower o-ring seals with the clean engine oil of the Fuel Rail and studs, fastening with 10 n.m (89 lb in), then Fuel Rail bracket nut. Apply the tabs of the cooflant heater cord if provided, return retainer of the engine harness, as well as the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the Fuel Rail to the studs, which should be attached with pushnuts. Refit the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the engine fitting and the surge-tank, tightening the hose/pipe clamp as required. Connect the fuel feed line quick connect ground to the Fuel Rail, the pcv fresh air tube quick connect ground to the camshaft cover and the pcv foul air tube quick connect ground to the right camshaft cover. Lastly, reconnect the rear fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors , the rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector , the front fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors , and the front ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector . Replace the air cleaner outlet duct and Fuel Injector sight shield cover.
