How to replace the intermediate steering shaft on Cadillac DeVille?

Vehicle maintenance begins by removing the Steering Column followed by vehicle elevation with proper support for replacement of the intermediate Steering Shaft. Start by taking off the left front tire and pinch bolt at the power steering gear stub shaft before removing both the intermediate shaft from power steering gear stub shaft and the intermediate Steering Shaft. Start installation by placing the intermediate shaft onto the power steering gear stub shaft while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Secure the pinch bolt to the power steering gear stub shaft through proper torque termination at 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the left front tire followed by lowering the vehicle to complete the installation with the Steering Column.
