To change the engine coolant crossover pipe, start by removing the intake manifold cover, generator, generator drive belt idler pulleys, and
Power Steering Pump. Reposition the coolant recovery reservoir, inlet hose clamp at the crossover, coolant and detach the coolant recovery reservoir inlet hose from the crossover. Release the tension on the hose on the coolant crossover pipe with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185), then remove the radiator inlet hose and shift the thermal bypass hose clamp over in the crossover pipe before removing the thermal bypass hose. Next, remove the bolts of the coolant crossover pipe (1-4) and remove the coolant crossover pipe. For installation, you place an installation of the new coolant crossover pipe to the cylinder heads, you then secure the bolt that holds this pipe into place with the coolant crossover pipe bolts (1-4), make sure you tighten them to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Attach the thermal bypass hose and its clamp and the radiator inlet hose. Use a small flat-bladed screwdriver to inset the hose clamp retention lock at the coolant crossover and then install the coolant recovery reservoir inlet hose and clamp it at the crossover. Finally, putting back, the Power Steering Pump, drive belt idler pulleys, generator and intake manifold cover.
