  First, open the liftgate and the endgate so you can pull off the endgate trim panel by grasping the rear end panels and the liftgate on the left and right sides. Then, pull off the water deflector. Pull off the endgate latch rod from the bellcrank, remove the endgate latch bolts, slide the endgate latch forward and pull off the electrical connectors from the endgate latch finally removing it from the vehicle. For installing, please make sure that the child safety switch on the endgate latch is not locked to avoid casualty. Align the final gate latch to the end gate and link the electrical connectors as well as connect the final gate latch rod to the final gate latch. Slide the end gate latch into the end gate and fasten the end gate latch bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Replace the endgate latch rod to the bellcrank, the water deflector, and the endgate trim panel, then close the endgate and the liftgate.
