How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for the side impact on Buick Rendezvous?

Before replacing the inflatable restraint side impact sensor, you have to disable the SIR system. Do not hit or jolt the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (SIS); ensure that it is safely fastened before power is applied to prevent SIR action or injury to the person. Disengage the center pillar lower trim and then disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) from the yellow 2-way harness connector, the side impact sensor. Pull out the wiring harness connector from the sensor and remove the 2 fasteners that hold it in place. Take out the side impact sensor from the center pillar. Clean up the mounting surface of any type of dirt, grease, and contaminant prior to installing the new inflatable restraint side impact sensor onto the center pillar. Tighten the 2 fasteners to the sensor as tight as the torque is 10 N.m (89 lb in). Sheath the yellow 2-way harness connector to the side impact sensor and also reinstall the CPA to the yellow 2 way connector. Finally, install the center pillar lower trim and activate SIR system.
