This Air Bag Sensor commonly referred to as a crash sensor has the immensely exclusive responsibility of detecting impacts and therefore triggers the control unit to deploy the air bags with an aim of safeguarding the occupants. As the name suggests, this Air Bag Sensor has a good reputation in response to the impacts, and is available in several Rainier models which pay much attention to the response speed. The Buick Rainier designed with numerous safety aspects, these following are some of them: All-disc antilock brakes and GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability system and this specific Air Bag Sensor positively impacts the safety of the vehicle. The Rainier has a rigid and strong body and comes backed with only the optimal OEM parts that increase the efficiency of this Air Bag Sensor making it even more popular amongst automobile companies in the market. Also, the Buick Rainier 2007 model received the highest result for side-impact tests by NHTSA if the car contains side curtain airbags and it proves the strategic role of the Air Bag Sensor in providing the car with the powerful safeguarding it deserves. In summary, the Air Bag Sensor can be regarded as an outstanding example of the company's focus on such values as reliability, performance, and occupant safety, which makes the component an essential element of the Rainier.

Buick Rainier Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for the side impact on Buick Rainier?
    A:
To replace the inflatable restraint side impact, you need to disable the SIR system first. It is imperative not to hit or jolt the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (SIS) and to attach it firmly before power to prevent SIR deployment or personal harm. Remove the front door trim panel and the rear half of the water deflector from the door exposing the side impact sensor. I have to unscrew the screws that hold the side impact sensor to the door and take off the impact sensor electrical connector from the side impact sensor. After separating the side impact sensor in the door, clean all mounting surface and get rid of dirt, grease, and impurities. Position the side impact sensor horizontally to the door and plug the electrical connector into the side impact sensor. Mount the screws to hold the side impact sensor to the door securely to a torque of 8 N.m (71 lb in). Full seat the water deflector to the door, and reinstall the door trim panel, then enable the SIR system.
