Begin by disconnecting the negative
Battery Cable then taking off the intake manifold cover before you start the Ignition Control Module (ICM) replacement process. The icm wiring harness electrical connector requires bolt loosening before detachments proceed between the icm and connector. When replacing the icm first disconnect the rear
Spark Plug Wires from the
Ignition Coils before moving on to disconnecting the front Spark Plug Wires. Start by removing the icm wiring harness ground nut and after that disassemble the ground stud. After loosening the icm bracket nuts you can remove the bracket from its mount points. Set the icm assembly on a clean surface and remove each Ignition Coil bolt followed by the ignition coils from the icm. The icm requires placement on its bracket where you must bolt the ignition coils before tightening all bolts to 4.5 n.m (40 lb in). Install the icm bracket on the mounting studs while tightening each nut to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). The icm wiring harness ground wire requires attachment to its stud followed by tightening the ground nut until torque reaches 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Secure the icm wiring harness electrical connector before tightening its securing bolt and redo the spark plug wire connections between ignition coils and spark plugs at the rear and front. Reinstall the intake manifold cover after reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
